I live in the desert – theres just no f*ing way I can paint the exterior of the house this dark without cooking everything on the interior.

Summer is here and I’ve been thinking of shades sails. They are less expensive than I thought and make a great modern architectural impact. Here in the desert I think they are a must have.
I’ve got a few places on the patio that are in desperate need of shade. Now that the interior of the house is getting less overwhelming to think of and the summer sun is calling I might have to start decorating the exterior in earnest.

At least we have a sidewalk.
I did get into a wee bit of a fight about mailbox placement with the city Parks and Street director. He actually physically ripped it out of the new sidewalk. Now its on the front lawn and we can’t get in or out of our driveway.
We have been inconvenienced.
