JAMBOX

September 26th, 2012

Being distracted by projects and traveling and other such nonsense like losing my camera battery charger, I’ve generally been MIA from the interwebs for much longer than I’d expected as well as so clutter-minded that this post has somehow floated around forgotten in draft limbo for an unreasonably long while.

How long, you ask? One month? Nope. Many multiple months? Yup.

Whoops.

Anyway, many many moons ago, I pulled together my props and helped style up some interiors Laure was shooting for a campaign launching the new BIG Jambox by Jawbone. Like the original smaller scale Jambox wireless speaker, this bigger version is just as portable and designed by Yves Behar and also makes the sounds go BOOM. This photo shoot was actually my first experience with any sort of Jambox and I have to admit that it sounded pretty impressive just streaming music from our phones while we worked. Oh, and that wireless thing is so very nice seeing that I despise nothing more in the world than seeing wire clutter. Plus it recharges up like any other mobile thing.

I totally want one, dammit.

Ok, get it together lady.

BAM. Some of my favorite photos from the shoot:

Mmmmmmmm. Yum.

Of course all these gorgeous photos were shot by my favorite photographer Laure Joliet, who is as always fantastic to work with  as is the ever awesome Heather. We three shot the campaign really quickly by hitting up 3 locations a day for 4 days in a row and pulled together a large stylish collection of images featuring the BIG Jambox – all of which can be seen here on pinterest.

We did it! Yeah!

Thanks again to Tracy, Gregory, Simon, Laura, Elsie, Abby, Erin and Jerome for sharing all of your beautiful homes and being so generously accommodating to us and thank you forever Laure and Heather for being the best.

CHAIR’D

September 4th, 2012

Picked up this pair of chairs off Craigslist about…looks…like two months ago? So you know, breaking goddamn news. Wow. That is pitiful. Both the house and blog seem to be caught up in some sort of stagnate stalemate of clutter, disinterest and neglect.

I’ve been distracted? Busy? Hot? Preoccupied? Stuff is happening.

These photos are like really sad time travel to when we lived with order and cleanliness. Now? Chaos all up in the place. The living room has been solidly filled with boxes and random bits from overlapping projects for months. Of course once that started, the clutter rapidly spread and overtook most of the house and then it spread out over most of the property.

Things are unmanageable. Out of control. Officially hitting bottom. Ruins. To sum up, the house has spiraled into disorder as my attentions have been elsewhere.

UNSOLVABLE catastrophe, no wait, this is an easy to SOLVE thing.

All I need is extra storage space and a few men with strong load-bearing backs – possibly some sort of formal intervention – to organize and regain the use of, oh I don’t know, the dining room. If only that didn’t sound so horribly dull and currently inconvenient.

If only.

I’d totally be all up in it and organizing shiz for real.

Anyway.

This pretty rusty pair is still buried somewhere deep in the living room jumble, but before that mess I thought they added a nice bit of color and change to the space. If memory serves. Maybe someday I will see them again.

So. Yup. I got nothing. Blog quagmire.

Hmmm.

Anybody want to play that hot new game called Identify That Chair?

Name the designer and manufacturer of this chair pair if you dare, you punks. Get it correct and you just might get a sassy tickle and pinch from me – but ONLY when you least expect it OR never at all. *Probably never

HAPPENINGS

August 17th, 2012

Things have been quiet around the house due to some traveling and a few projects I’ve been focused on. Funny how preoccupation combined with 106 degree temperatures will suck all the fun and focus out of home improvement.

Anyways.

Laure and I recently headed out to Crested Butte to photograph Keith and Alissa’s wedding. While secluded in the mountains, I shot more photos, ate more ice cream and hollered at more cows than should be reasonably allowed. So yup, great mountain wedding times were had all around.

Really though, the biggest focus-sucking development has been the unexpected addition of this little fur puff of a dog to the house.

To clarify.

We weren’t looking for another dog. We didn’t want another dog. We were happy with our current small dog quota…and then this little feather footed vagabond of a pup needed help and a home and deployed her manipulative powers of adorableness to squeeze into my goddamn heart.

Details wise.

She is seven months old and weighs a whopping 3 pounds. She has no name, zero house training, zero vet care and is extremely shy. Oh, and she is in heat. Big time.

Things have been interesting.

So, yes, we are all adjusting to a new routine in which she is a tiny clueless menace, Iggy is either ambivalent or terrified of her and Bowie is desperately obsessed. Mostly though, she’s a hilarious puff of a weirdo who really needs a name already.
