Art Center

Had to go to Art Center for work this past weekend. Forgot how much I love black exteriors – like LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Sigh.

Black exterior and a killer view of Pasadena?

Sigh again…

Not Thrifty!

January 21st, 2010

I went to a Salvation Army a few towns over that I hadn’t been to in quite awhile. The real estate firm next door had gone out of business and SA’s solution was to take over the WHOLE building and move the furniture and larger home items into the old office.

Well, it was weird. Like REALLY weird.

It started off thrifty enough but soon derailed into something akin to a horror movie with the leftover cubicles and empty offices stacked high with vignettes of cast off furniture and home goods.

All the blue chairs are mesmerized by their own reflection…

Hastily taped signs led you down corridors and around empty conference rooms to look at a sad assortment of LAMPS. There were no vacuum cleaners to be found…

I’m glad they kept the LAMPS and lampshades separate. Who knows what horrible and grotesque shenanigans these fiends would get up to if not separated into their own offices.

It’s like the most depressing diorama you’ve ever seen.

I love how they play with angles and symmetry. SOLD.

More Furniture! Yippee!

Oh wait, it’s just piles of phones.

Thrifty!

January 20th, 2010

Well kind of Thrifty! I didn’t but these rad paint by number paintings, but I always love me some PBN.

My Mom collects Moriage Dragonware so I picked up this little creamer for $1.

40% off everything Salvation Army day rocks my balls. It may explain why I also bought this 1970’s mirror coffee table. Why? I don’t really know, I don’t need a coffee table but this thing was so rad and so very cheap that I was sucked into its glamor. It looks kind of crappy in the store but trust me – it’s big, it has a Lucite base, it’s mirrored and it’s very seventies sexxxy.

I also picked up a few other small things…

More to come!
