WTF

What is this some sort of crazy abstract painting?
A light installation?
A sculpture in progress?

RAAAWWWRRRR!

It’s the old randomly placed mailbox hole.

The boy ripped out the old mailbox slot so that we can patch the interior bit of wall in the guest bedroom. There was a bunch of trash and black widows living in there – eeewww. We have a mailbox on the street so this bit of nostalgia is now defunct and a bit too breezy and disgusting to keep around.

We are trying to figure out how to patch this bad boy up so that there isn’t a large gaping peep hole looking directly into the guest bedroom. Anyone want to stay over? I swear that one weird neighbor won’t stop by and watch you sleeping…

I got it I got it I got it

Oops.

I have another couch.

The color is much different in person than the craigslist picture led me to believe. It’s a bit of a deeper blue/gray. It is in PERFECT condition. I never really have anything in PERFECT condition. It’s nice, but scary.

I have to totally redo the den now.

I’m debating on whether I should I sell my white couch. I may have to live with this colorful sofa for a week and then decide…

Commune

Check out this great before and after at Alma Allen’s via Commune Design. Love the simplicity of the tile, wood and cement in this nice unfussy shower. Check out their rad Design Log, some great inspiring stuff.

Now you can take home a little bit of Commune (well, for some major $$$) at the new shop.

My favorite thing is these Commune Crates.

(The Ace Hotel)

At $1600 a pop these are way more DIY than purchase friendly, but nevertheless Commune still remains one of my favorite design houses. Delicious.
