We don’t really do Christmas. At all. Ever.

Mostly I try to keep my head down and wait for this excruciatingly long holiday season to pass. If I have to hear that goddamn hippo song one more time! I’ll just…I don’t know, be annoyed I guess.

My secret shame is that I love all the crazy Christmas lights that come with the season. I caved in and bought a string of small clear globe lights at Target. The sansevieria in the bedroom ended up being our faux “Christmas tree”. Poor thing.

I picked up this pair of lamps as a possibility to throw on a credenza or in the master bedroom. Yeah, they don’t fit anywhere in the house. Crap.

Then I bought this pair of tables to use as either a coffee table in the den or as night stands in the guest bedroom. They didn’t work in either of those places so I stuck them under the den shelving unit to store books and magazines and to use as a drink rest.

Here’s a better view. The den is like the worst room to take photographs in.

I like the rounded cube thing that’s going on. Maybe I should make little square pillows so that they are like little ottomans. Hmmm, that’s stupid. Crap.

I picked up this pair of Original BTC England Hector Pleat table lamps at the Angel View Thrift in Palm Springs.

They totally had me fooled.

The cloth cord, the old style plug, even the tags underneath were skillfully designed to appear vintage. Well, they aren’t vintage, but I still think they’re groovy.
