Thrifty!

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

On our little trip the Boy and I stopped in a little vintage/antique/junk shop. Of course I had to drag him in, but he did spot something…

“Hey, they have that ottoman from the living room outside.”

I was so excited! Franco Albini!!! Too bad it was in TERRIBLE condition, but for $3 I couldn’t resist. The bigger news is this: How well is The Boy progressing in vintage spotting?!? Very well. Now if I could only get him to enjoy thrifting…

The lady was all saucer eyes and disbelief when I bought it. “Well, it sure is rattan…”

Road Trip

Friday, March 26th, 2010

The Boy and I took a quick little road trip through the deserts of California, Nevada, and Arizona for a few days.

No reason in particular and with nothing exciting in mind, just got a sudden case of wanderlust to get up and get out of town for a short while. We ended up near Lake Mead but the most beautiful thing we passed were the salt flats near the ghost town of Amboy, Ca.

A salty and desolate ocean in the middle of the Mojave…

Feeling rested and revived to start work on this old brick again.
