Jon (of Happy Mundane and other fame) sent over a fresh copy of J3 Productions second issue of At Your Leisure. I’ve never seen a zine so well produced (and with a special dream catching gift – hello!). Zines at my high school were ramshackle stapled together ventures of poor photography and worse writing.
There are two great house tours included in the second issue. Firstly, Tracy Wilkinson’s Mount Washington pad shot by the super talented/fanciest/busiest lady I know, Laure Joliet. I’m destroying Laure’s great photos with my horrible scans.
The trend that caught my eye was wood in the bathroom. I want wood. I want it in my bathroom.
Is wood impractical? I don’t care. I want it.
Cheryl and Josh Brubaker’s mid century place in Orange, CA is equally cool. Love love love a hanging egg chair and walls of glass.
Check out this and much more, including sexy models, ephemera and geometry in At Your Leisure’s second issue: Vision. Get your own limited edition print version HERE.

…i love the wooden cats close to the fireplace and the metal branch in the bedroom…details make the difference!
Doei!
I have white wood in my bathroom and I am not really sure if I like it… any styling advices?
we just remodeled our bathroom and put in bamboo sinks. LOVE them. http://www.moderndanish.com/Modern-Bathroom-Kitchen-Products/Bamboo-Sinks/BB-108-Natural-Bamboo-Oval-Vessel-Sink_2. fyi, that sale price is pissing me off because we paid $180 each. still a good deal i think but not an amazing deal like the current price is.
I want that inviting couch.
Tracy’s living room coffee table is amazingly beautiful. anyone know where i can get one of those or something similar?
also loving the hell out of that egg chair<3
Jesus god how I want to curl up on that rug at the Brubaker home and make believe it’s mine all mine.
I’ll take those cats on the fireplace. Wood in the bathroom? hummmmmmmmmmmmm Don’t do it on the floor near a shower to tub. You’ll be sorry later, now unless it’s teak or cedar that’s a different story, and even then I would think three times before doing it.
I Have always wondered how Jenna Lyons keeps her herringbone floor under her tub from getting moldy or mildewy or rotting…
Wood in the bathroom is nice, but wood AND carpet in the bathroom is nicer.
But with three boys over here I got more wood than I want…
I loved the wood in her bathroom when I was shooting it, but was still stumped by how she keeps it clean. those black lines are the wood being spaced about a centimeter apart with a gap in between. Just enough for damp dust to cling like crazy and make me an insane person. How does Tracy keep it so clean? It must be related to how cool she is.
Hi hi. I think your blog rocks, you have really amazing eclectic taste, and I think it’s wonderful that your home doesn’t look like something out of a restoration hardware catalog.
Keep finding (and posting) about all the gorgeous unique things you find!
new reader, first comment. You sold me on the J3 magazine and now I’m anxiously awaiting my copy.
I. Love. Your. House. And your burlwood table. I have a rosewood one sitting somewhere that needs to be refinished and brought back to some form of glory!
Comment It Up!
