Sale Done!

June 13th, 2010

That’s it!

And we are pooped.

Thank you, thank you, thank YOU to all those fine, fabulous and funny folks for coming out to little old Hemet to peruse our vintage wares. The big sale was a raging success and there just might be some crazy plans in the works to spend that new found dough. I smell a bathroom remodel cooking…

    did you sell it all?

  2. THE BRICK HOUSE on June 13, 2010:

Pretty much! We have a couple little things left, but we were pretty wiped out.

  3. Tonia on June 13, 2010:

Oh I’m so thrilled! I knew your readers would come through. Thanks so much for letting us know how it turned out. I had been dying to know.

Did people get great deals? Is it crazy that Im dying to know what the orange rocker went for? Thats what I really wanted, even though I dont like that rocker in general. That one was calling to me. Im bummed.

I really wanted to go, but I had to attend a graduation. Im sure there will be a next time!

It was an awesome sale. I can’t wait to hang up my retractable lamp I got there. You should do this next year and the year after that. This could be the 1st annual Brick House sale. Great opportunity to spring clean, swap out your stuff and fund more projects.

I just realized why I liked that rocker so much! It was NOT the big-ass eames one! The one you had was so cute and streamlined. and orange. Now Im extra bummed. Can you tell me what kind of rocker that was so I can keep an eye out?

I agree with John- make this an annual thing. Its win/win for everyone.

I’m so so bummed we didn’t make it….and thats the trouble with having a toddler in the house. No matter how much I want to do something sometimes it’s not possible.

Anyway, so happy to hear you sold just about all of it! Amazing…but not really. You have excellent taste. It’s not you, its Hemmet. I think you should do a bi-annual sale like this. You’ve listed your vintage finds before and I’ve wanted to buy them from you bc…..I can’t go vintage shopping with a toddler. Tried it and it’s super tough. So, instead of you going places we can come to you.

So happy you got some cash so we can continue seeing your projects!!!!

I am very happy for you ! But very jealous of the lucky bastard who is now chilling on that rad white sofa…

Are ripping out the pink bathroom then ?

  13. THE BRICK HOUSE on June 13, 2010:

The orange chair was an eames side shell on a wide mount rocking base. It was a real one, just not the armchair.

We are thinking about redoing the back laundry room/bathroom.

Is that pic what’s left? I’m totally interested in that camper painting!

  15. lisa mertins on June 13, 2010:

  16. Coletta on June 13, 2010:

  18. THE BRICK HOUSE on June 14, 2010:

Yeah, that’s bound to happen. Pretty much every time I sell stuff.

  19. Julie on June 14, 2010:

Please tell me that jerk isn’t making a huge profit off your table?!

  20. Kimberly on June 14, 2010:

I’m hoping Ryan with the awesome mosaic coffee table on CraigsList is taking a loss on the table. The idea that he got a really great deal on it makes me even sadder that I didn’t rent a truck and drive from St. Louis to buy your treasures.

  21. THE BRICK HOUSE on June 14, 2010:

Nope, he got a great deal.

He bought other stuff too, and I bought my bertoia chairs off him for a great price too. Give and take.

  22. Piedpipergirl on June 14, 2010:

Thanks Brickhouse, for a smokin’ hot sale. It was such fun to see everything in person, first time I ever was in the Internet.
Kind of unreal. But have the goodies to proof it. You guys rock!

  23. Robyn on June 14, 2010:

Hey, give and take is right. Didnt mean to put the guy on blast. My first though was “I know that table!” Its a small internet.

    /end serial posting

  24. Dee on June 14, 2010:

Congrats on the success of your sale. Is that road runner picture still available? I’ll be in Palm Springs in August or September. I will buy it then if you still have it.

  25. Kim & Joe on June 14, 2010:

You guys have a great aesthetic and practical sensibility. We were happy to be able to stop by the sale on our way from San Diego to the desert. I totally think that we are kindred spirits with regards to the $100 ‘rule of thumb’ and DIY attitude. Let us know if you ever want us to be on the lookout for goods in San Diego since we are ALWAYS on the hunt…ha ha. Keep on bloggin’!

  26. Billy & Kim on June 16, 2010:

You guys were awesome. We feel extremely lucky that we jumped in quick, and made the trip from LA to buy the incredible white sofa. It looks fantastic in our space, and just wanted to say a huge thank you for the great deal!!! Not to mention that we really loved everything else you guys had in your home. It was beautifully put together! Take care!
