Let us suppose that maybe we rural Brick House folks went down to San Diego for New Year’s…

and maybe we saw some awesome art…

maybe we made some new friends…

and just maybe we overindulged in some delicious libations…

All hypothetically of course.

Then perhaps we drove the opposite direction to Los Angeles…

To see Maya’s show and photograph Maya’s fancy purse since (like me) she hates to be captured in front of the camera box.

and then afterwards maybe we ate some Mr. Ramen in Little Tokyo

and shared some tasty frozen yogurt as well…

and maybe that made me actually really miss living in Los Angeles…

And maybe I should have bought one of these crazy Warhol cat prints that could go with this guy…

I hope everyone had a good new year!

Time to gear up and start working on this bitch of a Brick House again.

Just a taste of the majesty that is our home town of Hemet, California. I’m REALLY excited about putting together a tour. That spray painted real estate gem reads:
PHORE SAIL
4.5 Achers 3 Loughts
Own/Agt.

SOLD.
Where do I sign!

Not Thrifty!

Friday, January 1st, 2010

This is definitely Not Thrifty! but it’s sure is getting a little bit Scandinavian around here.

I had a few out of town guests stay at the old Brick House who are rabid mid century enthusiasts. So of course we headed out to Palm Springs to check out the goods.

My favorite little vintage import store JP Denmark just relocated to the Perez Art and Design enclave of stores in Cathedral City. Just The BEST little store for Danish design…but you’re going to pay for it $$$.

They are currently awaiting the big containers FULL of new-old things to arrive from overseas after the owners two month long shopping trip. What a perfect job.

Drool.

$200 bucks for this shaggy rya rug. I was very tempted.
