Front Yard

January 8th, 2010

Yes, I know. This exterior stuff is getting a little dull. But look how terrible that screen door is and the janky mailbox – the SHAME of it.

But it’s not as bad as this:

The dreaded google street view.

Ohhh, poor Brick House. Look at your ugliness! A chair? Really? A sofa? A bunch of grapefruit? Ugh.

Slowly and cheaply we will make you beautiful. Because your resale value…hmmm. Not going to be great in this town.

Still to do:

    -Paint! Seriously, paint the house
    -Roof fixing
    -Flashing fixing
    -Landscape
    -Driveway gate
    -Exterior lighting
-House numbers (first thing I bought! I have them sitting in a drawer patiently waiting)
-Masonry side fence (to prettify the side yard as well)
-Short side fence (knock down that white crap)
    -Walkway pavers
    -Horizontal slat patio screen
    -Hard-scape (with boulders!)
    -Front door
    -Drip irrigation?

This is going to cost a fortune. Maybe I could just paint the front yard green.

Paint that bad boy "Downpipe" gray. Then come to my house and work your magic inside please!

I wanna mate with that horizontal slat patio screen.

I have felt your pain! This house, http://tearinguphouses.blogspot.com/2009/09/before-and-progress-little-blue-house.html , had GREEN SEAHORSES plastered across the front. Green seahorses. I kid you not.

Actually, your place looks like it has tons of potential. At least you have a pretty clean slate to start with. I can't wait to see how it turns out…

I think as homeowners, we should have the right to veto our google earth photos…nobody should have to have a sofa in their streetview. NOBODY!! :)

I'm actually EXTREMELY interested in all of your outdoor adventures. 2010 is the Year of the Exterior for us too!

ugghh – I know what you mean. When the mega drifts of snow melt, I'll be tearing out dead shrubs, re-graveling the drive, and getting rid of the hideous stale gray that my house is right now…oh the work load and the expense..

It will look great…your ideas for the exterior are excellent. Definitely not dull reading about it.

I'm so excited for you to paint the exterior!

But you can just hang out on the couch, eat grapefruit, and watch people drive by! Woudn't that be the time of your life?!

Dude… that Google photo is just plain rude. It's like someone intentionally snapping a pic of you when you have bed head, no makeup, and a huge mouthful of food. All at once.

Just paint the front door yellow, hang up a porch swing, and call it a day. :-)

What a transformation. To be honest I love the white, I think you should keep it! It especially looks great with that frosted window. Now I know it's just primer so it may not be as nice of a shade of white up close but the photo looks great, and it's better for HAWT days. I also agree with the beast of art and sex to come up with a cool painted door.

I would go with red or blue but I am partial to the Scandinavians.

Your neighbors should be paying you for increasing _their_ homes’ values.
